Chattanooga brings together rehabilitation technologies, including:
LightForce Therapy Lasers, the Class IV therapy laser range within the Chattanooga portfolio.
LightForce developed as a division of LiteCure, LLC, with a focus on therapy lasers for rehabilitation professionals. The LightForce brand brought together laser technology, treatment-delivery tools, research resources and practical education for clinicians. Its original mission was simple: to make people better.2
In 2021, DJO acquired LiteCure. That acquisition brought LightForce into the Chattanooga rehabilitation portfolio. DJO became Enovis in 2022. Today, Chattanooga, a brand of DJO, LLC, an Enovis™ company, brings LightForce laser therapy together with a broader range of rehabilitation technologies.1
LightForce remains the name of our therapy laser range. Chattanooga Rehab is the current destination for its products, educational resources, sales assistance and customer-service pathways. The LightForce name connects the technology clinicians know with the organization supporting it today.
The original LightForce website emphasized four commitments: innovation, reliability, outcomes and customer success. It described a heritage of designing and manufacturing therapy lasers in the United States, collaborating with the research community and helping clinicians introduce laser technology into practice. Those historical commitments help explain the brand's place in rehabilitation.2
The focus extends beyond a device's power rating. Treatment delivery, protocol guidance, operator training and access to support are all part of evaluating a therapy laser. LightForce product development combines these considerations in systems designed for professional clinical use.3–5
LightForce XLi and XPi systems combine Class IV laser output with the Empower IQ™ Delivery System and Influence® Technology. Empower IQ provides real-time delivery feedback through the Smart Handpiece. Influence Technology provides protocol guidance that accounts for patient and treatment considerations. Clinicians remain responsible for selecting appropriate parameters and following the device instructions.3,4
Quick-disconnect treatment heads support different application approaches. The XLi includes larger treatment-head options, while the XPi includes five treatment heads. LightForce's massage-ball technology supports on-contact application. Device-specific product pages explain the included accessories, operating modes and technical specifications.3,4
These features are tools for trained clinicians. A higher maximum output is one selection factor; it does not replace assessment, appropriate dosing, operator training or adherence to the current user manual.
The current range includes FXi, XPi and XLi systems. Compare their configurations with a Chattanooga representative against your practice's treatment areas, portability needs, staff workflow and training requirements.3–5
| System | Maximum output | Configuration to explore |
|---|---|---|
| LightForce FXi | 15 W | Portable, battery-powered configuration. |
| LightForce XPi | 25 W | Empower IQ delivery feedback, Smart Handpiece and five treatment heads. |
| LightForce XLi | 40 W | Empower IQ delivery feedback, Smart Handpiece and larger treatment-head options. |
Visit each product page for current specifications, documents and accessories. For an existing or legacy LightForce system, contact customer service with the model and serial number so the team can confirm applicable documentation and service options.
LightForce therapy lasers are used by trained healthcare professionals for temporary relief of minor muscle and joint pain and stiffness, muscle spasm, temporary increases in local blood circulation and muscle relaxation. The current product documentation and instructions for use govern the indications, warnings, contraindications and operating parameters for each system.3–6
Clinicians may incorporate laser therapy into a broader conservative care plan alongside therapeutic exercise, manual therapy and other appropriate interventions. Patient selection, treatment timing and parameters depend on the clinical assessment. Laser therapy is not a substitute for diagnosis or an individualized rehabilitation plan.6
Class IV laser operation requires trained personnel, appropriate protective eyewear and a controlled treatment environment. Review the current user manual before operating a device. Ask your Chattanooga representative about training for the specific system and staff who will use it.3–6
LightForce's original website connected clinicians with research abstracts, studies, webinars and specialty-specific education. Chattanooga continues to provide a home for laser-therapy education through its study library, webinars and eBooks and white papers.
Research should be read in context. Study populations, device parameters and treatment protocols vary. Findings about photobiomodulation do not establish that every laser, dose or treatment approach will produce the same result. Use the LightForce laser therapy overview as a starting point, then review the cited research and applicable product documentation with your clinical team.
LightForce is part of the clinical conversation across physical therapy, chiropractic, athletic training and podiatry. Chattanooga's specialty resources help clinicians explore technology within their own practice setting:
Chattanooga's published LightForce footprint includes more than 250 professional and college sports teams, 1.3 million treatments per month worldwide and a presence in 29 countries. These figures describe the brand's reported reach; they do not predict an individual patient's result.1
Choosing a laser also means planning for implementation. Ask about installation training, operator education, current manuals, clinical resources, warranty terms and service arrangements for your selected model. Confirm the details of any support or training package with your representative before purchase.
Existing customers can use LightForce customer service for assistance and the LightForce customer store for its available customer resources. Product pages include document links for the corresponding systems. For people seeking treatment, the LightForce provider finder offers a separate route to locate a clinician.
Explore the technology, review the evidence and discuss the system that fits your clinical setting. Our team can help you compare current models, arrange a demonstration and connect you with product and customer-service resources.
